The UK Florist of the year competition 2017 seeks out the best florist in the country - In 2017 the competition takes on even more significance as the BFA celebrates it's100th year anniversary.

Gaining the crown of UK Florist of the Year 2017 in this significant year will be an extra honour.





About the competition

In brief the competition is perhaps the biggest floristry competition the UK has ever seen as each year we search to find the best florist in the country to be crowned the UK Florist of the Year. 

The competition winner will be presented with the prestigious trophy and carry the title UK Florist of the Year. 

What will the competiton entail?

This UK Florist of the Year Competition focuses on finding the best of the best. The competition provides an opportunity for competitors to demonstrate creative and technical skills at the highest level. 

The schedules for both heat and finals will give optimum opportunity for florists to create designs that will showcase their exceptional skills and wow audiences.

Who can enter the competition?

This prestigious award recognises that you are the Best of the Best, the Champion of Champions, so if you’ve ever won a coveted medal at Chelsea or been a heat winner, maybe you’ve competed in Worldskills UK or Eurofleurs or even the World Cup, then this is the competition for you!

This competition is open to florists and students who have at least three years’ experience within the industry and acheived at least one of the above.

Heat competition

In this celebratory year we are holding the UK Florist of the Year heats at the BBC Gardens World Live NEC, Birmingham on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June. A  mecca for gardeners and flower lovers alike, which see's over 95,000 visitors.

Final competition

The final of the 2017 Florist of the Year competition will be held at FleurEx on Saturday 21st October at the Hilton Metropole NEC. The winner will be announced at the Industry Awards that evening.

Cost of competition entry

Entry to the competition is £20 + VAT.  Flowers and sundries will be provided for all sections of the competition apart from the first task which is to be brought along ready-made. All competitors must be BFA/ IoPF members.

Entry places for the qualifying heat are allocated on a first come first served basis and places are limited, so don't delay book your place as quickly as you can. Click on the link below to download the application form - all instructions are on the form.
