Competition Results FleurEx 2017

Competitions have always been a big part of FleurEx, it gives florists the opportunity to challenge themselves and let their creativity shine as they pit their wits against fellow competitors.

This year there were 5 categories something for everyone, including new for 2017 a college competition.

Congratulations goes to the winner of Class A. Tina Pound

Class A - Design and create a wired Bridal Design to be carried by the bride at a wedding.

This class was generously sponsored by Floral Tours.

1st place – Tina Pound

Class B. Design and create a Bio degradable funeral tribute for a woodland burial, to include bulbs.

Class C. Design and create a wired circlet worn at an Autumn wedding.   This competition was open to all students with less than 3 years’ experience.

Class D. Design and create a pair of Epaulette to be worn at a Alexander McQueen fashion show.

The Jimmy Nutal Trophy for Innovation

Each year the Jimmy Nutal Trophy for Innovation is awarded to the competitior who's design has stood out to the judges as the most innovative.  This award has been presented for many years, originally with the Society of Floristry, this is an award that the BFA are proud to continue to present to florists that push the boundaries.
